“Portrait of a Lady” is a miniature portrait by the Dutch artist Rogier van der Weyden, painted around 1460 using easel painting techniques. The portrait consists of geometric figures that form a light-colored headdress with a veil, a medieval nun, the face and hands of the model; the light illuminates her face and headdress. The contrast of darkness and light enhances the almost unnatural beauty of the model, adding to her gothic elegance.
