Design Axes for the Gateway of the Nature Village:
1. Iranian Naturalism
2. Special Attention to Climate and Landscape (Climate-Responsive Design)
3. Use of Local Materials
4. Sustainability at Economic, Social, and Ecological Levels
Architect's Statement:
The design process for the gateway and entrance complex of a nature-oriented and animal-friendly village, located in the unique climate of the Barajin region, should certainly differ from the design of a gateway for a university or even a hospital entrance. Considering the cold and mountainous climate of Qazvin and the sustainable approach currently in the management and operation of the Nature Village complex, it is essential to design the entrance gateway as an integral part of the region's nature, not as a detached element from it. Thus, in selecting the form, it is important to create shapes that resemble the asymmetrical forms of rocks, mountains, plains, and plants rather than artificial and man-made structures. Utilizing the science of climate-responsive design and compact building forms, similar to the old and historical buildings of Qazvin, the functional part of the structure should be located in the basement level, 3 meters underground, to meet the design needs while preserving the breathtaking view of the plain.
Main Components of the Design:
This design consists of two main parts:
1. Symbolic: Above ground, in the form of natural rocks and boulders, immediately visible to visitors upon entry.
2. Functional: Below ground, at the -3 meter level, designed to meet practical needs, protect from cold and snowstorms, and preserve the view of the plain.
