1. The city and the surrounding area
• The city is to become the new capital of an African country with about 10 million inhabitants.
• The new city is located more centrally inland than the existing capital.
• The city is being built from scratch and will ultimately have space for 100,000 residents. Only the working population and their families will be housed there.
• The land where the city is to be built is flat and without elevations.
• No river flows through the land to be built on that would need to be taken into account.
• There is no risk of flooding, earthquakes or other possible disasters.
• The ownership of the land within the city is already in the hands of the government. They can therefore be planned freely.
2. The access roads to the city (railway and roads)
• The country is to be provided with new railway lines. These are to be concentrated in the new capital. For this purpose, 6 railway lines will be led from all parts of the country to the new capital and will be led in the form of a circle around the city (see sketch).
• The circle (diameter 4,800 m) that connects the railway lines and leads around the city is also a kind of city wall. It has 6 access roads for the railway lines, which are located approx. 5 m above the city. The circular railway lines are double-tracked so that the city can be circumnavigated from both sides.
• 2 train stations are planned, which are located exactly on opposite sides.
• 6 main roads lead from the outside in the middle between the 6 railway lines into the city, each in the form of an underpass (see sketch).
3. The 7 districts
• The city is divided into a central district and 6 other districts that surround the first district. The respective centers of the 6 districts are connected by a road that surrounds the center of the city.
• The central district is slightly larger than the other districts. A large public square is planned there. In this district, 6 ministries are planned.
• The remaining 6 districts each have 1-2 ministries and another important area, such as:
o A national hospital;
o A large university;
o A large shopping center;
o A center for various office buildings (including high-rise buildings);
o A center for various research centers;
o A national court;
o The presidential palace;
o Possibly another center is still to be determined.
• The following buildings are also being built in the individual districts:
o Approx. 100 embassy buildings;
o Approx. 50 buildings for various organizational structures (approx. 1,000-5,000 m² per building);
o Many luxury villas;
o Apartment buildings;
o High-rise buildings with apartments for officials and their families;
o 3-, 4- and 5-star hotels;
o Kindergartens, elementary schools, middle schools and high schools;
o Museums;
o Leisure facilities, law enforcement officers, road services, youth centers, orphanages, fire departments, etc.
o Commercial buildings;
o 4 districts have a church in the center;
o Each district gets a landmark (e.g. statue, monument, mausoleum, Ferris wheel, triumphal arch or other);
o Each district has shopping streets with offices and shops;
o Both high-rise buildings and lots of green areas can be built between the centers of the single districts.
